

Step 1:Xerox and attest any Govt. approved ID of yourself. The photocopy should include your name & current living address. This document should preferably be your Ration Card. You may also use your Passport or Driver's License, but this might involve some convincing of the officials-in-charge.
Step 2:Xerox 2 of your family members/parents/neighbour's Electoral Photo ID Card (EPIC) as a double proof of residence.
Step 3:Fill in your personal details in Form no.6 - which requires you to register on the Electoral Roll - including the Constituency to which you belong.A box on the back of the form requires the "Name, Relationship with the applicant & EPIC number" of the persons involved in Step 2, which you must fill in carefully.
Step 4:According to the Constituency you live in, identify which Registration Office you need to drop of all the above 3 documents to. Please remember that you must carry the originals of the documents in Step 1 & 2 as well as another Photo ID of yourself (eg: College ID)
Step 5:The Registration Officer will fill in and then tear the bottom of your form off after examining your entire application. This is your Receipt. Xerox this and keep both original & xerox very carefully.
Step 6:2-3 months later, visit your Registration Office once again (with all the documents you carried previously and your receipt) to verify if your name has appeared on the Electoral Roll. When it has, you will be made to take a quick picture in the RO itself, which will be used as your EPIC photo. Wait there while your ID gets printed, stamped and laminated.
